TNA Xplosion: Air Date 10th September 2014

What happened to Xplosion?

This show used to be funny. It used to be goofy. It used to have meaning.

But now? It's dull.

Did they just move all the interesting stuff to Saturday morning?

Or is this really what they consider to be family friendly entertainment?

Because I know for a fact that I would have hated this at ten.

The opening segment with Jeremy Borash presenting has nothing to it.

No jokes. No fun. No wit.

And worst of all, no Rockstar Spud.

Is this because he's making a face turn? Is he no longer the Chief of Staff?

He's still ex-British Boot Camp. Why wouldn't they keep him around to promote that?

The Xplosion Xclusive match between Gail Kim and Brittany was good.

But as always, it was obvious from the start that Brittany would lose.

She never wins. Why start now?

And the Match of the Week just made me sad.

Zema Ion, X Division Champion, defending and retaining his belt.

And now look at him. DJ Z, comedy sidekick to the BroMans and perennial jobber.

The interviews are the same uninspired segments copied verbatim from TNA #365 on Impact.

The Impact Wrestling Rewind is what it says on the tin.

There's nothing special about Xplosion any more. It's lost what identity it had and replaced it with blandness.

I miss the Spin Cycle. I miss Spud. And I miss the days when Xplosion was a light-hearted B side to Impact.

Because right now, it's boring.
