TNA Xplosion: Air Date 17th September 2014

This episode of Xplosion was the best I have seen in a long time.

Why? Three words: Rockstar Spud wrestled.

And he wrestled Crazzy Steve in the Xplosion Xclusive.

The last time I saw something this ridiculous, it was Rockstar Spud teaming with Bully Ray at One Night Stand. Spud nearly pulled Austin Aries's trunks off.

This was sillier.

We had the referee putting Rockstar Spud in an armlock. Spud having a tantrum and staging a sit-down protest. And Crazzy Steve riding Spud like a pony.

It was a hilarious mess from start to finish and I couldn't stop smiling.

Some people may think wrestling is serious business. And yes, sometimes it is.

But sometimes, you just want to cut loose and have a nonsense match like this.

And it was so welcome.

As for the Match of the Week, it was one of those that make me wistful.

AJ Styles and Kurt Angle versus Bad Influence for the Tag Team Championships?

Yeah. That makes me nostalgic for what we could have had if those three awesome guys had stayed.

But the wrestling was fantastic. And the appletini to the face was a classic Christopher Daniels screw-over.

So I can't be too sad.

I've been saying for a few weeks that Xplosion needed its sparkle back.

And this episode brought it. I had a lot of goofy fun, and I can't wait for some more.

This is what Xplosion should always be: the light-hearted b-side.

Please keep this up, TNA.
